Flashback Friday

Kerry, Christine, and Andrea inspired me to get out some old photos and scan them so here they go. The first ones I decided to post were some favorites. The family one I always tease is my favorite because it is the only one that I am still the baby :-) Soon, Matt was born and I quit smiling (so my mother says). The second one I just have always thought was a good one of me and big sissy Andrea. Enjoy and stay tuned, I scanned about 30 pictures to play with.

Fun at work

I have this pet peeve at work when I am in the triage area. We have 9 gurneys in the area and when I come into work most of the time the pillows are missing and I have to go on a start of shift pillow hunt!!! The other morning I gave report to the oncoming shift. The triage area was completely empty (not too often does that happen out here!) and EVERY gurney had a pillow. I instructed the nurses that I expected them to leave it the same as I had left it for them when I came back in 12 hours. Well, they got me good when I came back in. I was just coming out of the dressing room when they called out and told me to hurry in. The triage area had every curtain pulled, charts were everywhere, the nurses were scrambling around calling out for a emergency C/S on a patient that I could hear that the heart rate was in the 60's. They were prepping IV's and telling me to call the charge nurse to open the OR. It looked like a mad house and of course I was unamused with the chaos! I pulled open the curtain on the "patient" with the heart rate of 60 and there was one of the nurses laying in the bed with the baby heart monitor over her own heart! I couldn't believe how good that they played it off! They were so serious and they had even made up fake charts and scattered them everywhere to make it look like the place was hopping. Needless to say, the triage area was indeed the way I left it without any patients and all of my pillows were there with the exception that they decided to make a patient out of them. We got one of the other nurses from labor and delivery pretty good when we told her she had an admission and she better hurry because she was 8 centimeters and wanting to push. She was pretty surprised to open the curtain and find pillow woman in the bed! Now the big joke between night shift and day shift is that they better bring the gurneys back with a pillow or Lori is going to make them go find one. Hey, is it too much to ask that my patients be comfortable with a pillow while they are visiting me????

Notice that they even put the monitors on and the blood cuff on the pillow patient! They even stuffed those wonderful hospital booties and put them there too! Apparently they had way too much time on their hands that afternoon!

Coming home from Utah

On the way home I was trying to torture the boys with cool pictures that us adults have taken on our trips to conferences in Utah. Unfortunately the first place in Cove Fort that had a sign that said "check us out" had burned down so we were unable to get a repeat picture there. Then I have the great idea to replicate this Bun Boy picture with them. Once again I am destroyed to find out that the Bun Boy has now been turned into a Bob's Big Boy!! At least this Bun Boy motel was there so I "talked" the boys into taking this picture. Dalton was unamused but I told him it was for his mama so he reluctantly took the picture. The boys did really well on the long drive home and we got home without me even wanting to kill them!

Coming to get Shad from Utah

On Friday the 18th we left to go and pick up Shad from Utah. Dalton came along for the ride while the girls were back at home going to horseback riding camp. Mom went with us so that we could drop her off in Cedar City to visit with Nancy. We stayed at her house on Friday night and then headed up to Christine's in Spanish Fork on Saturday morning. I think the highlight of the day was getting into Nancy's amazing shower with jets everywhere, music, steam, and great lighting. It was definitely what I needed after working on Thursday night and driving all day Friday.

Ok I am wierd, but I had to take a picture of me while I was driving since I was taking them of the boys.

Shad't Utah Trip

This summer Shad got to go to Utah and spend some time with Christine, Steve, Eric, Allen, and Ryan. He had so much fun (he always does with his cousins).


One of the things Shad got to do in Utah was go out on the lake and go on the tube every Saturday. He had a blast, and only with minor injuries.
I think he looks like a drowned rat here!



Here Shad shows off his bowling skills. He claims that he couldn't bowl as well because he didn't have "his" ball. Of course, he has only used "his" ball once but I guess he has his preferences and I can totally relate to that being the "expert" bowler that I am :-)

On July 14th we had a new addition to the cousins with the birth of Baby Blake. Desi is the proud mama. Shad got to go and visit her in the hospital and see his new cousin.

I know it's not that old but look at their cute baby faces! Dalton and Jordyn were having a burping contest while we were waiting for the fireworks. That's my girl!! Sounds like a sister I have :-)

Girls Day Out

Jordyn was begging me to take her shopping for clothes for a while now so I took her and Ashley and we went for an outing to the mall. Clothes shopping is of course not my thing but the girls were really getting into it and with help from the clerk they had lots of clothes to try on.

One of the outfits that they bought. These shirts were a whopping $4 so they were quite the bargain shoppers!

They did a fashion show for me coming out of the dressing room which was very cute. They ended up buying these matching clothes, minus the hats and purses.


After shopping we went to lunch at Red Robin and the girls changed into one of their new outfits. To end the day they wanted to take pictures in the photo booth.
